IE Adventures: From Prehistoric Trains to Broadway Magic
There is an undeniable energy in the Inland Empire this month. As the citrus blossoms start to scent the air in Redlands and Riverside, the community calendar is packed with events that prove you don’t need to drive to LA or OC for world-class entertainment and unique family experiences.
Here is your guide to making the most of the Inland Empire this March.
1. All Aboard the Dinosaur Express
Perris is going prehistoric on March 7–8 at the Southern California Railway Museum. The Dinosaur Express is back, featuring Buddy from the PBS hit Dinosaur Train. It’s a full day of “prehistoric playtime” where kids can meet resident dinos and take a train ride through history.
- The 2026 Addition: Don’t miss the brand-new Lego Masterbuild Competition, where the IE’s best builders showcase massive brick creations.
2. Broadway at Your Doorstep: Mary Poppins
Rancho Cucamonga’s Lewis Family Playhouse is transforming into London 1910 for Mary Poppins the Musical (March 7–15). This collaboration between the Inland Pacific Ballet and Candlelight Pavilion is “practically perfect” for a family night out. It’s a high-caliber production that brings the magic of the West End right to our local stage.
3. Country Night & Arthropalooza
If you’re looking for something a bit more high-energy or educational, the IE has you covered:
- Country Night (March 21): Dust off your boots and head to the Yucaipa Performing Arts Center for live music and line dancing.
- Arthropalooza (March 21–22): The San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands is hosting its “Ultimate Bug Fest.” It’s an outdoor celebration of the tiny creatures that power our planet—perfect for curious minds of all ages.
