The 20-Minute Nest: One-Pan Lemon Herb Salmon & Asparagus

The Ingredients

  • 4 (6 oz) Salmon Fillets: (Center-cut works best for even cooking)
  • 1 lb Asparagus: (Ends trimmed—pro tip: snap them where they naturally break)
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil: (Or avocado oil for a higher smoke point)
  • 1 Large Lemon: (Half juiced, half sliced into thin rounds)
  • 3 Cloves Garlic: (Minced or pressed)
  • 1 tsp Dried Italian Herbs: (Or fresh dill/parsley if you’re feeling fancy)
  • Salt & Pepper: (To taste)

The 5-Step Strategy

  1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper for the easiest cleanup of your life.
  2. Season: Place the salmon fillets in the center of the pan and surround them with the asparagus.
  3. The Zest Factor: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs. Drizzle the mixture evenly over the fish and veggies.
  4. Top It Off: Season generously with salt and pepper, then lay the lemon slices across the top of the salmon. This keeps the fish moist while it roasts.
  5. Roast: Bake for 12–15 minutes. For a restaurant-quality finish, switch the oven to broil for the last 60 seconds to get those slightly charred edges on the asparagus.
