Your IE August Culture & Arts Guide
When the heat peaks in August, the Inland Empire gives you the best of both worlds: cool mountain escapes and easy evenings under the stars. Here are the highlights.
Big Bear Lakefest
Head up the hill for Big Bear Lakefest on August 28 and 29, a lakeside celebration of live music with a mountain backdrop, local food, and drinks. It is a perfect way to cap a summer of concerts in the cooler mountain air. Pack a light jacket, evenings up there get crisp after sundown.
Movies in the Park in Riverside
Riverside’s free Movies in the Park series continues into August with a screening of “Lilo & Stitch” at Orange Terrace Park on August 7. Movies begin at dusk, around 7:30 to 8:00 p.m., so bring blankets, lawn chairs, and a picnic and arrive early for a good spot.
Explore the region’s range
Part of what makes the IE special is its variety, from mountain towns to historic downtowns to wide-open new communities, all within a short drive. Late summer is a wonderful time to explore the diverse micro-climates and neighborhoods the Inland Empire has to offer.
Falling for a neighborhood?
If an August weekend in the IE has you picturing life here, we know these markets and we are happy to help you understand what a move could look like. No pressure, just a clear starting point.
