Your OC August Culture & Arts Guide
August is your last call for the summer’s biggest Orange County traditions. Between the fairgrounds, the art festivals, and the coast, there is plenty to fill a weekend before the season ends.
Last weeks of the OC Fair
The Orange County Fair runs through August 16 at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa. Catch the carnival rides, fair food, concerts, and exhibits before it wraps for the year. It is a classic Southern California outing for the whole family.
Art festivals in Laguna Beach
Down in Laguna Beach, the Sawdust Art Festival celebrates its 60th year at 935 Laguna Canyon Road, running well into September with 180 local artists, live demos, and music. Nearby, the Festival of Arts and its celebrated Pageant of the Masters continue through early September. Evenings here are a genuine OC tradition.
And of course, the coast
No August in OC is complete without beach time. Whether it is a morning at the shore before the crowds or a sunset stroll along the sand, the coastline is the county’s easiest and most timeless summer escape.
