From civil engineer to mortgage broker.

Before I ever looked at a loan file, I looked at load calculations.
I trained as a civil engineer. The work was unglamorous and I loved it. You study the whole structure, you check the math, and you do not get to guess. If a number is wrong, something fails, and it fails in a way that affects real people. That discipline stays with you.
When I moved into mortgage lending, I expected to find the same rigor. Instead I kept running into something else: families being rushed. People signing the largest financial document of their lives without a clear explanation of what was in it. Nobody was lying to them. They just were not being taught.
That never sat right with me. So in 2017 I started NestMade with a simple idea. Slow down. Explain the process. Show the math. Let people make their own decision with real information in front of them.
Why a broker, and not a bank
A bank can only sell you what it has on the shelf. As a broker, we shop many lenders on your behalf, which means we can go looking for the program that fits your situation instead of asking you to fit theirs.
That difference matters most for the people who do not look like a textbook borrower. Self employed business owners whose tax returns understate what they actually earn. Investors qualifying on a property’s rental income. First-time buyers who need a down payment assistance program. Families who were told no somewhere else and assumed that was the final answer.
What we still do the engineer’s way
We check the math before we make a promise. We tell you when the timing is wrong, even when that costs us the deal. And we explain the tradeoffs in plain language, because a client who understands their loan makes a better decision than one who is simply agreeing.
We are licensed in California and Colorado. Our office is in Chino Hills, and we work with families across the Inland Empire, the San Gabriel Valley, and the rest of Southern California.

The name
A nest is not built in a day, and it is not built alone. It gets made, piece by piece, by a family that keeps adding to it. That is the part of this work worth caring about. The loan is just the tool.
Empowering families to build a lifetime of beautiful nests together. That is the whole thing.
